Samsara CBL-VG-CJ1939 Diagnostic & Power Cable (CBLVGCJ1939)

The Samsara CBL-VG-CJ1939 is a specialized cable designed to connect Samsara Vehicle Gateways (VGs) to the diagnostic ports of heavy-duty vehicles. This cable interfaces with the SAE J1939 standard, utilizing a 9-pin Deutsch connector. There are typically two types of 9-pin J1939 connectors:

• Type 1 (Black): Used in older heavy-duty vehicles, typically communicating at 250 kilobits per second (kbps).
• Type 2 (Green): Introduced in model year 2016 designed for higher data rates, typically 500 kbps. The physical design of the Type 2 connector prevents older Type 1 cables from being plugged in, ensuring compatibility with the faster network speeds. The CBL-VG-CJ1939 is compatible with both types, with specific clips provided for mounting.
